LEAKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was killed and another was injured after a shooting in Leake County.

Carthage police said the shooting happened on Monday, February 26.

One person was found deceased at the location. Police said the second victim was taken to a local hospital and later airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson.

Police said an unidentified suspect was in custody as of March 1. They expect more arrests in the case.
