JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are searching for a 17-year-old in connection to a shooting that critically injured a person.

The shooting happened in the area of Jayne Avenue and Lindsey Drive on Friday, March 1. Detective Tommie Brown said the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

According to Brown, 17-year-old Cory Mitchell was identified as the suspect. He is wanted for aggravated assault and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
