JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police arrested for a 17-year-old in connection to a shooting that critically injured a person.

Police announced the arrest of Cory Mitchell on Sunday, March 3. He was wanted on an aggravated assault charge.

The shooting happened in the area of Jayne Avenue and Lindsey Drive on Friday, March 1. Detective Tommie Brown said the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
