Racehorse stolen from Mississippi recovered in Kentucky

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Agents with the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) recovered a racehorse stolen from Mississippi in Todd County, Kentucky.  

On February 23, 2024, Terry police received a report about the stolen racehorse, worth $7,000. A few days later, agents with the MALTB were asked to assist in the investigation, and they took the lea.

During the investigation, it was learned the racehorse may have been stolen by fraudulent means. Additional information surfaced that led MALTB to Todd County, Kentucky. The horse was later located in Kentucky and identified as the stolen racehorse.

With the help of the Todd County sheriff, MALTB was able to recover the stolen racehorse and have it returned to Mississippi. This is an ongoing criminal investigation into the theft of livestock.
