MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Olive Branch Police are searching for a motorcyclist who they say opened fire on officers during a traffic stop, officials say.

Police identifed the suspect as Colby Alan Towles, 34, of Olive Branch. As of 1:30 p.m., he had not been captured.

Warrants have been issued for Towles on two counts of aggravated assault against a police officer.

Police say he was riding a dark gray Harley Davidson Road Glide. If you have information on where Towles is, call police at 662-892-9400 or 662-895-4111.

According to reports, a little before 1:45 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on Highway 302 near the intersection of Craft-Goodman Frontage Road.

During the interaction, an unknown person on a motorcycle approached the stop and began yelling at officers. They then left the scene heading west on Highway 302.

Shortly after, the motorcyclist made a U-turn and opened fire on the officers. Officials say one officer returned fire and the suspect fled the scene.

No officers were injured.
