CLAIBORNE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Claiborne County deputies arrested a 19-year-old for allegedly shooting another person in the face.

Investigators said they received a call from the Patient’s Choice Hospital just after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9. They were told a male patient had arrived at the location with a gunshot wound to the face.

During the investigation, deputies learned that the shooting took place near the Magnolia Apartment complex.

They identified the suspect as 19-year-old Dontaye Sheppard, of Port Gibson. He was arraigned on March 10 and denied bond.
