JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Two 19-year-olds were injured during a shooting in Jackson.

The shooting happened near Lake Hico on Wednesday, March 13.

Detective Tommie Brown said a 19-year-old female and her 19-year-old male cousin were on the court playing basketball. When they went to their vehicle to leave, Brown said unidentified suspects in a parked car began firing shots at the cousins.

Police said the suspects were in a black older model Honda.

Brown said the victims were both shot in their left legs. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
