MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The man accused of shooting at officers in Olive Branch has been brought back to Mississippi after being extradited from Missouri, more than 300 miles away.

Colby Towles is charged with two counts of aggravated assault of an officer as well as conspiracy to commit a crime.

He is now set to go before a judge on April 4.

Officials say Towles approached a traffic stop and began yelling at police. He then drove off, made a U-turn, and fired shots at them.

He was captured by US Marshals near the Bass Pro Angler’s Lodge Hotel in Springfield, Missouri Monday right before 5 p.m., according to our sister station KOLR.

Towles also had a child with him. The child is now safe.

His alleged girlfriend, Sarah Skriver, was also arrested.

Skriver has been charged with being an Accessory After the Fact. Desoto County District Attorney Matthew Burton said, “She was helpful to him and hindered law enforcement.”
