Mississippi man arrested for fatal shooting at club

CARROLL COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Mississippi man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting outside a club.

The incident happened just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 in the parking lot of a club, formerly known as Katie’s Place, in the Coila area of Carroll County.

When Carroll County deputies arrived at the location, they discovered 20-year-old Jaheim Montreal Walker unresponsive. He died at the scene.

According to investigators, Carroll County Constable Travis Gatewood was inside the establishment when the shooting occurred. People came inside and told him about the shooting.

When he went to the parking lot, witnesses told Gatewood the shooter was Reginald Cortez Lindsey, 40. The constable went to Lindsey’s house and arrested him. He was transported to the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility.

Lindsey was charged with first degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was denied bond during his initial appearance in court.
