JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police arrested a man after he allegedly stole a patrol car.

The incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 17 in the 1200 block of Violet Street.

Detective Tommie Brown said officers were responding to a mental health call. When they arrived at the location, Brown said the suspect, Trevin Bell, jumped into an officer’s patrol car and fled the scene.

According to police, the vehicle was later recovered on Sunday, and Bell was taken into custody.
