JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – One person has died and two minors were injured during a crash in Jackson.

Capitol police responded to the three-vehicle crash on Sunday, March 17. The crash happened on Interstate 55 south near Fortification Street.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said an unidentified person died at the scene.

Martin said two minors were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. Others involved in the crash did not receive any serious injuries.

The accident is being investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP).
