Mississippi teen arrested for fatal hit-and-run

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WJTV) – A Mississippi teenager has been charged in connection to a fatal hit-and-run.

Bay St. Louis police arrested 18-year-old Bryan Scott Hathcock, Jr., of Perkinston, on Monday, March 18. He was charged with one count of felony leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

Police said the incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. on March 16 on Highway 90 near the intersection of Dunbar Avenue.

According to investigators, the victim, 41-year-old Brandy Thames, of Bay St. Louis, was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Police identified the suspect’s vehicle as a 2003-2006 Chevrolet Silverado with an extended cab and a bed toolbox. They later arrested Hathcock.

Investigators said Hathcock is being held at the Hancock County Adult Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond issued by a judge.
