Former JPS employee arrested for exploitation of minor

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson Public School (JPS) officials said a former employee has been arrested for exploitation of a minor.

According to JPS, there was an allegation of misconduct against the employee, and the JPS Campus Enforcement launched an investigation. The former employee was arrested on February 29, 2024.

JPS did not identify the former employee.

“Jackson Public Schools is deeply committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all our students. The District has clear policies and procedures in place to safeguard our students and will enforce these measures to the fullest extent of the law. Any employee found to have engaged in misconduct will be held accountable and face disciplinary action,” officials said in a statement to WJTV 12 News.
