MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – Madison police arrested a 25-year-old woman for allegedly firing shots at another vehicle during a road rage incident.

The shooting happened around 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25.

When officers arrived at the scene, the victim told officers she was exiting Interstate 55 south onto Highway 463 when her vehicle was shot at by another driver on the southbound exit ramp. Officers were able to get a description of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle.

Officers located the suspect’s vehicle near Highway 463 and Post Oak Road. They said Deemmareld Charlae Blackmore, of Brandon, was arrested. Police stated that a firearm was also recovered at the scene.

The victim was not injured during the incident, but her vehicle did suffer damage. Police said the exact motive behind the incident is still under investigation.

Blackmore has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the incident.
