JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials in the Jackson-metro area announced an update on “Operation Unified.”
The operation was announced by Governor Tate Reeves (R-Miss.) earlier this year and aimed to go after violent criminals in the Jackson area.
According to officials with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), there have been more than 600 arrests in the operation. Authorities also seized more than 200 firearms, more than 500 pounds of illicit drugs and more than $30,000.
Recently, agents and officers involved in “Operation Unified” conducted phase two of the operation. Beginning on Monday, March 25, 2024, officers started serving arrest warrants across Jackson.
Thirty-five arrest warrants were generated from DPS agencies for this phase. According to officials, 18 firearms, more than $20,000, one stolen vehicle, and multiple illegal drugs were seized. The said around 40 arrests have been made.
