JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – It’s been a week, and a Belhaven man is still missing.

The family of 37-year-old Dau Mabil said they’re trying to figure out what happened to him. His wife, Karissa, said he left home going on a routine walk.

Mabil works at Sal and Mookie’s, which is owned by longtime business owner Jeff Good. Good said Mabil was last seen near the Sunflower Bakery and apartment complexes on Jefferson Street on Monday, March 25.

Mabil’s wife said the last few days have been full of unknowns.

“That’s pretty much it. And that’s what our plea is all about, is that the more people who know Dau’s face, who know Dau’s name and who know when they, you know, know if they and when they recognize him, know that that he has a family who wants him back home,” she said.

Mabil is 5’11 with brown eyes and short black hair.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact Capitol police at 601-359-3125. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to Mabil’s whereabouts.
