VIDEO: Hail falls in Central Mississippi on Tuesday

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Severe storms moved through Central Mississippi on Tuesday, April 9.

Parts of the Jackson-metro area experienced hail and some damage from the storms. Entergy Mississippi reported nearly 17,000 power outages Tuesday evening.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said multiple trees and power lines are down throughout western and northern Hinds County, including Learned, Raymond, Old Port Gibson Road and Pocahontas.

Jones said Highway 49 near Pocahontas was partially blocked due to downed trees and power lines. Crews also responded to the scene of two homes damaged by fallen trees.

WJTV 12 News received videos of hail in Madison, Ridgeland and in the Sandhill/Pisgah area. We also received pictures of trees and limbs down in our viewing area.
