JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The battle on public education funding is still being waged at the Mississippi State Capitol.
House and Senate Democrats have come out against the proposed House funding plan known as the INSPIRE Act.
Tempers flared on Tuesday when the Senate voted to not take up the House’s MAEP replacement. The move effectively killed the possibility for further discussion in the Senate.
On Wednesday, House lawmakers placed the INSPIRE Act language into a Senate bill, sending one final INSPIRE Act over to the Senate for their consideration.
