HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Hinds County Board of Supervisors recognized the Jackson State Women’s Basketball Team on Monday.
The team had a historic season, going undefeated in the SWAC before winning the conference championship.
Coach Tomekia Reed, surrounded by her players, celebrated with county officials, along with JSU Athletic Director Ashley Robinson and other coaches. She said the team is looking forward to the 2024-25 season.
“It’s an outstanding feeling to be recognized in my hometown in Jackson. You know, we know what we do. We do it for our university. We do it for our city. We do it for our culture, our HBCU community. We enjoy doing it. We enjoy being at the top,” said Reed.
The team will begin training camps soon.
