Man arrested after woman found shot on Hattiesburg sidewalk

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – Hattiesburg police announced Julio Cesar Pineda, 42, has been arrested and charged with one count of first degree murder in connection to the death of Josie Windham, 29. The incident was determined to be domestic in nature.

Cesar has been transported and booked into the Forrest County Detention Center.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – Hattiesburg police are investigating the death of a woman, who was found unresponsive on a sidewalk near an apartment complex.

Police said the 29-year-old woman was found in the 2300 block of West 7th Street in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 17.

The Hattiesburg Police Crime Scene Unit confirmed the victim had been shot and was pronounced dead on the scene. She has not been identified.

Investigators said a person of interest is in custody.
