JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a woman was killed after being run over by a vehicle.

Detective Tommie Brown said the incident happened in the 300 block of Queen Alexandria Lane on Monday, April 22.

The victim, who was identified as Taurniqwa McElvaine, was pronounced deceased at a local hospital. Brown said the vehicle used in the incident has been recovered.

Police said they do have a person of interest in the case.
