YAZOO CITY, Miss. (WJTV) – Yazoo City police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.

Yazoo City Police Chief Terry Gann said officers received a call around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 28 about a possible missing person.

Officers conducted a welfare check at a residence and found Serrelle Bassett deceased with multiple gunshot wounds. Gann said officers also found a man, Ravonte Fowler, deceased from a single gunshot wound.

Investigators believe Fowler shot Bassett before he shot himself.

According to Gann, Fowler was arrested earlier this year on a domestic violence charge. He said Bassett was the victim in that case.
