JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson police officer and another driver were injured during a crash on Monday, April 29.

The crash happened at the intersection of North State Street and Court Street.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said Capitol police responded to the scene.

According to Martin, the Jackson police officer was attempting to travel through the intersection when the patrol car struck another vehicle.

The officer and the driver of the second car were both transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
