VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – Vicksburg police said a woman was arrested in connection to the shooting death of a man.

The shooting happened just before 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1 in the area of Grove Street and Hayes Street.

When officers responded to the scene, they found 34-year-old Hakeem Samall Burnett on the ground suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was taken to Meri Health River Region and was pronounced deceased.

Police said they arrested 41-year-old Rheuvonia Ramekia Buck in connection to the shooting. She was charged with murder.

Investigators said the motive for the shooting is believed to be domestic related.
