Man wanted for hitting woman in face, stealing purse in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are working to find the man who hit a woman in the face and stole her purse.

The incident happened in the 6300 block of Ridgewood Court on Monday, April 29.

Detective Tommie Brown said the victim was walking from her vehicle to a business at the location when she was approached by a Black male. The man took her purse after he pushed her to the ground and struck her in the face.

The unidentified suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. Brown said the man later used the victim’s bank card to put gas in his vehicle at the Circle K on Old Canton Road.
