COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two teenagers were found deceased inside a vehicle on Interstate 55 in Copiah County.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said the incident occurred on I-55 South in Copiah County on Sunday, May 12.

The Copiah County deputy coroner identified the victims as 17-year-old Trenarius Dixon and 17-year-old LaShayia Stewart. The teens both attended Hazlehurst High School.

Dixon and Stewart had both been shot, according to the coroner’s office.

The investigation is ongoing.
