COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was killed during an armed robbery in Copiah County.

The incident happened at the Wesson Truck Stop on Interstate 55.

The Daily Leader reported the armed robbery occurred on Tuesday, May 14. Copiah County deputies said a customer was carjacked, shot and later died at a hospital.

The Copiah County coroner identified the victim as 60-year-old Vincent Ratliff. He was from the Wesson area.

Investigators said they found the customer’s car a short distance later, and it had been abandoned.

Copiah County deputies are still searching for a suspect.
