JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson man has been sentenced in connection to the deaths of his grandmother, mother, and pregnant sister.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said 29-year-old Maurice Forte was convicted on four counts of capital murder.
The fatal shootings happened on September 16, 2018. Jackson police responded to a home on Marwood Drive and found Forte sitting in the front yard with a pistol on his right side. The officers then found the bodies of three women inside the residence. The victims had multiple gunshot wounds.
Officials said the victims were Forte’s 69-year-old grandmother, his 49-year-old mother, and his 26-year-old sister, who was seven-months pregnant.

Owens said Forte was sentenced to life for each count of capital murder, without the possibility of parole.
“This individual shot his grandmother eighteen times, his mother, nine times, and his pregnant sister, twice; all in an act of senseless violence. Our office will continue to hold those who commit these acts responsible,” said Owens.
