JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (May 24-26) around Mississippi.

Central Mississippi:

Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

  • There will be live music, drinks and ice cream!

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Live at Five – Natchez – Friday

  • Live at Five is a free, family-friendly biannual concert series held in the spring and fall at the Bandstand overlooking the Mississippi River.

Urban Foxes 5th Birthday – Jackson – Friday and Saturday

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

“Thank You Please Come Again” Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Thank You Please Come Again features twenty-two photographs that document photojournalist Kate Medley’s ten-year journey through the heart of the American South.

What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

PAW Patrol Adventure Play Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Save the day through hands-on play at the Mississippi Children’s Museum’s summer exhibit in Jackson, PAW Patrol: Adventure Play!

Gator Glow: Sunset in the Swamp – Jackson – Friday

  • Dive into the world of art and nature at MDWFP’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science in Jackson with this new series of painting classes for teens and adults led by local artist and Pacesetter Gallery owner Keri Davis.

Collaborative Art Showcase – Jackson – Friday

  • Local artist, Hannah Boone, will partner with Chef Guillermo from Just Vanilla Bakes (the mastermind behind Coffee Prose pastries) to offer a live art showcase on the patio in the courtyard.

Juleps & Jazz – Jackson – Friday

  • The brunch will feature delectable southern cuisines, an array of musical genres, and trendy fashions.

Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

Spring Concert Series – Clinton – Saturday

  • Dr. Zarr will perform at Lions Club Park. Bri’s Burgers will be the food truck of the evening.

Nature Threads – Clinton – Saturday

  • Bring your latest project to work on while socializing with other fabric arts enthusiasts, or pick out some of Clinton Community Nature Center’s donated materials to make bags for the Nature Store.

Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

  • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

Points & Pints Foam Ball Tennis League – Jackson – Sunday

  • This league is all about having fun with friends of all levels and abilities. Teams are made up of between 2 and 6 players.

Pine Belt:

Friyay Karaoke Night – Laurel – Friday

  • The event will be held at 320 5th St. in Laurel.

New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

StoryWalk – Hattiesburg – Saturday

  • Exercising body and mind through the joy of reading and a walk in an alley in downtown Hattiesburg will be the centerpieces of StoryWalk, a unique concept combining physical activity and literacy will be held for the fourth year in a row.

Serengeti Springs Grand Opening – Hattiesburg – Saturday

  • Hattiesburg’s latest attraction, Serengeti Springs, is gearing up to open on Memorial Day Weekend.

South Mississippi Ballet Theater Presents Giselle – Hattiesburg – Saturday and Sunday

  • Giselle tells the story of Count Albrecht, a young nobleman, who has fallen in love with a shy, beautiful peasant girl, Giselle, despite being betrothed to Bathilde, a lady of the court. Albrecht disguises himself as a humble villager called “Loys” in order to court the enchanting and innocent Giselle, who knows nothing of his true identity.
