JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials with the Mississippi College (MC) School of Law announced plans to complete a $7.5 million renovation to its campus in downtown Jackson.

The project marks the first major renovation at MC Law in 20 years and will include a plan to improve campus aesthetics and amenities.

According to officials, the multi-phase project will be completed in collaboration with CDFL Architects + Engineers and Alliant Construction. The first two phases of the project will be completed during the 2024-2025 academic year, with subsequent improvements forthcoming.

“Our campus lies in the heart of our state’s legal community, and we’re proud to make this investment into Downtown Jackson. We’re here to stay,” said MC President Blake Thompson. “We’re excited to offer an updated space that will not only better serve our current students but also enhance admissions for future generations of MC law.”

MC Law recently updated all exterior signage, highlighted by a new 10-foot tall, LED-backlit sign that transforms the downtown Jackson skyline.

Additional updates include:

  • A general campus “facelift” with new landscaping and signage
  • Revamped library space
  • Updated classrooms
  • Technology integration throughout campus
  • More collaborative social spaces for students and faculty
  • An enhanced Student Center
  • Improvements to the Advocacy Center

“We’re excited to watch these changes unfold over the next few months,” said MC School of Law Dean John Anderson. “Once complete, our updated campus will be a boon to our students and to downtown Jackson as a whole.”
