VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – Vicksburg police are investigating after one person was shot and killed.

According to investigators, the shooting happened just before 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28 in the 400 block of Locust Street.

When police arrived at the location, they found a male laying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. The Warren County coroner identified the man as 45-year-old Shandrick Montgomery.

Vicksburg police have not released any additional information.
