GRENADA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Mississippi deputies said they’ve stopped an illegal casino in Grenada County.
On Wednesday, May 29, Grenada County deputies, along with the Mississippi Gaming Commission and other state agents, executed a search warrant at the facility on Lakeview Drive and Futheyille Road.
Investigators detained two men at the scene. They said 10 video gambling machines were discovered at the location, along with U.S. currency used for gambling.
Authorities said the machines were destroyed on site in accordance with state law. One of the detained men was identified as Mohamed Lemin. He was arrested and transported to the Grenada County Jail. Lemin has been charged with violation of MS State Statute 97-33-7 Operating Gambling and Lotteries.
Grenada County deputies said all associated currency was seized for forfeiture.
