RAYMOND, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) announced a water contact advisory has been issued for a Hinds County creek.
According to MDEQ, there was a release of wastewater from the Raymond publicly owned sewer collection system into Snake Creek.
The advisory begins where Snake Creek crosses underneath Highway 18 and continues to where Snake Creek crosses underneath the Natchez Trace.

MDEQ officials recommend that people avoid water contact recreational activities such as swimming, wading, and fishing in these waters.
The agency is monitoring the condition of the creek and will revise this advisory as needed.
