JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Entergy Mississippi officials said crews have made substantial progress in restoring power after thunderstorms affected the company’s service territory Monday night.
Additional storms through the service area on Tuesday and Wednesday caused more outages.
As of 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, crews have restored power to more than 55,900 customers. Officials said 5,420 customers remain without power.
According to Entergy Mississippi officials, the Vicksburg, Brookhaven and Natchez areas sustained the most significant damage. Wednesday’s storms impacted Magee significantly.
Officials said some outages will carry over to Thursday, June 6.
Customers are encouraged to view the outage map on Entergy’s website for the updated estimated restoration times.
As of Wednesday evening, damage assessment for Entergy has identified damages to 111 poles, 41 transformers and 66 crossarms. They also found more than 22 miles of downed wire. Damage assessment should be complete by Thursday afternoon.
