JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade asked for the community’s help to solve a two-year-old murder case.

Raven Coleman, 18, was shot and killed at the Ellis Avenue Plaza in 2022.

Wade, along with Coleman’s family, asked anyone with information to come forward.

In 2022, Latimmis Washington was arrested in connection to the homicide. According to Wade, there is not enough information to move forward with the murder charge.

“We feel that by bringing this case back to the light, back to the forefront, there is somebody out there that knows why this young lady lost her life here. And I’m not saying that he’s not the suspect in this case, but at that particular time, there was not enough to go forward with the prosecution,” the police chief said.

Anyone with information about the fatal shooting can contact the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
