JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Capitol police are investigating after a body was discovered in Jackson.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said the body of an unidentified person was discovered near Hita Street on Thursday, June 13.

The body was transported to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the person’s cause of death.
