NATCHEZ, Miss. (WJTV) – A Natchez man died after a boating accident in Louisiana.

The Natchez Democrat reported the incident occurred on Lake St. John on Saturday, June 22.

According to officials, the 69-year-old man and his wife were out for a late boat ride. The accident occurred when they arrived back at the pier.

Authorities said the wife sustained some injuries after she fell off the boat. They said her husband jumped in to help her and drowned.

The incident is under investigation by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries.
