LEAKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A standoff in Leake County has ended after nearly five hours.

Officials with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians said the unidentified suspect was taken into custody before 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24.

Choctaw police and other authorities responded to the standoff in the Red Water Community at a home on Dixon Road. Officials said the suspect was barricaded inside the home.

Officers assisted with the dismissal of all people at the Clinic and Childcare Center. They said Red Water Boys & Girls Club attendees and staff were relocated to Red Water Elementary.
