EDWARDS, Miss. (WJTV) – Edwards police are investigating after a man was shot inside a vehicle and later died.

Edwards Police Chief Terence Crump said the shooting happened on Willie V. Crump Lane after 11:00 p.m.

The victim was transported to a Warren County hospital by a private vehicle. Crump said he was notified about the shooting victim by Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.

The victim, 21-year-old D’Aaron Kortez Carter, died from his injuries.

According to Crump, Carter was a passenger in a vehicle when three suspects fired multiple rounds at the occupants. No one else was injured during the shooting.

The police chief said there are no suspects at this time, and investigators are working to determine the motive for the shooting.
