New leadership named for the Jackson City Council

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – There’s new leadership on the Jackson City Council.

On Tuesday, July 2, Councilwoman Virgi Lindsay, Ward 7, was named the new president, and Councilman Brian Grizzell, Ward 4, was named the new vice president.

Lindsay and Grizzell will be the president and the vice president for the next year.

Former Council President Aaron Banks, Ward 6, initially nominated Councilwoman Angelique Lee, Ward 2, to lead the Council, but she declined. Lee previously served as the City Council’s vice president.
