1 arrested, 1 wanted for shoplifting at Byram Walmart

BYRAM, Miss. (WJTV) – Byram police arrested a woman and are searching for a second after they allegedly shoplifted nearly $2,000 worth of items from Walmart.

Officers said they were notified by Walmart employees on Monday, July 1 of a vehicle leaving the store. They said the vehicle belonged to the suspects who had just shoplifted several items from the location.

According to investigators, officers spotted the suspects’ vehicle at a local fireworks stand. They arrested Shanequia Harvey at the location. Police said they recovered more than $1,900 worth of stolen merchandise from inside the vehicle. The items included lawn equipment, Nerf guns and clothes.

During their investigation, detectives identified the second suspect as Deneshia Harvey, also known as “Lit Bit.” They said she had fled once officers made contact with Shanequia Harvey.

Investigators said the duo are also responsible for several other shoplifting cases throughout the area. They also had prior outstanding felony warrants with the Byram Police Department for felony shoplifting.
