Fire damages home on Turtle Lane in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Reservoir firefighters responded to fire at a Rankin County home.

They received a call about the fire around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, July 8 at a home in the 500 block of Turtle Lane.

Officials said the homeowners were able to get out of the house safely. They initially noticed the fire on the back porch.

Firefighters said the fire spread through the house and into the attic. The roof of the home collapsed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
