YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two men, including a former auxiliary deputy, were arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in Yazoo County.

Yazoo County Sheriff Jeremy McCoy said deputies received a call just before 6:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5 about the 13-year-old being in a vehicle with a 20-year-old man. When deputies arrived at the scene, they made contact with the teenager and the man, as well as the teen’s parents.

Deputies arrested 20-year-old Jontavis Lang and charged him with statutory rape. In addition, deputies arrested 24-year-old Jerquarius Carter, a former auxiliary deputy, and charged him with statutory rape.

McCoy said the investigation is ongoing, and no further information would be released at this time.
