MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A driver was arrested after a chase in Madison County, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi DPS, said troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) were conducting a safety checkpoint on Highway 49 South near Flora on Tuesday, July 9 when a driver fled the scene.
Martin said the driver led troopers on a brief chase. During the chase, she said a patrol car was struck by the fleeing vehicle.
Once the vehicle came to a stop, the driver was arrested without further incident. No injuries have been reported.
