RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A man died after his vehicle overturned in Rankin County, authorities said.

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said the crash happened just before 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10 at the intersection of Old Fannin Road and Eagle Drive in the Reservoir area.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found that a Volkswagen SUV had gone off the road, struck a light pole and overturned. Bailey said the unidentified driver was trapped in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries before he died at the scene.

The accident is currently under investigation by Rankin County deputies.
