LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Authorities said a man was arrested after several stolen firearms were located inside his Lamar County home.
On June 15, Lamar County deputies and agents from the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) attempted to serve an arrest warrant at home on Purvis To Baxterville Road. They said Heath Odom was wanted for receiving stolen property.
Investigators said Odom evaded arrested on June 15, but deputies found 12 firearms in his bedroom. They said several of those firearms were reported as stolen.
Warrants were issued for Odom for possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a weapon after a felony conviction. As their investigation continued, deputies said they discovered that the firearms were reported stolen from a gun safe at a camp house on Baker Road in Purvis. Another warrant was issued for Odom for burglary.

Lamar County deputies and Wiggins police later located Odom hiding in a motel in Wiggins on June 27. He was arrested and transported to the Lamar County Jail. He was then transferred to the Forrest County Jail for the probation violation charge. Once that’s completed, investigators said he will be transferred to Lamar County Jail.
