JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A global network outage impacted flights at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport on Friday, July 19.

Some flights were delayed or canceled due to a network outage. A faulty software update caused technological havoc worldwide.

LSherie Dean, the communications director for the Jackson airport, said the outage slowed down the booking process.

“Our airport is slightly affected, we’ve had one major cancellation with Delta at 9:00 a.m. this morning. So, they are currently rebooking all passengers. There have been about four other delays throughout our airport, but we are seeing some smooth operations other than that major cancellation,” Dean said.
