Pedestrian hit, killed near Rankin County restaurant

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A pedestrian was hit and killed near a Rankin County restaurant.

The crash happened just after 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20 on MS 43 North near Sunset Grill.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north when it collided with a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was identified as 41-year-old Marcie Errington, of Crystal Springs.

Errington was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.

This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
