BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (WJTV) – A 15-year-old wanted in connection to a fatal shooting in Mississippi was captured in Texas.

Brookhaven police said Christian Collins was apprehended by agents with the U.S. Marshal’s Service in his mother’s apartment in San Marcos, Texas, on Friday, July 26.

Collins has been charged with murder and aggravated assault. Investigators said Collins’ mother, LaRhonda Collins, will face obstruction of justice charges in the case.

Brookhaven police said Collins shot and killed 23-year-old William Young near the apartments in the 200 block of Pennington Street on June 22, 2024.
