JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A missing man was found deceased in Jackson after authorities found his abandoned vehicle.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said the vehicle was located near Laurel Street around 11:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29. The vehicle had been abandoned.

Martin said the vehicle was registered to Jeffrey Davis, 53, who was reported missing by his family on Monday.

Davis’ body was located around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30. Martin said his body was found with fatal injuries, but no foul play is suspected at this time.
